I'm jumping for joy...

I'm jumping for joy!  [insert jumps of joy here]  Why?  I’m so excited to announce that I have been selected to be a design team member for a new challenge blog, Triplicate Trials Tuesday.   This challenge is unique because it incoporates three parts: theme, color and sketch.

I'm absolutely stoked to be designing along side of some terrific ladies:

Triplicate Trials Tuesday DT

Thanks Rochelle for this opportunity.  I'm bursting at the seams and can't wait to get started.

Be sure to mark your calendars as the first challenge will be May 31st.

Hello Mama Earth

Happy Earth Day!  This card is my way of inspiring awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. As much as I would love to take credit for that last lovely worded sentences, I can't as I just googled Earth Day and got something jazzy to say (from here).

To demonstrate a way of reusing, recycling and reducing waste, I made this card from a Best Buy gift card sleeve and other scrap materials.  I didn't use any new material to make this card.

This card participated in the following "earth friendly" challenges:

I'm not sleeping...I'm thinking of you

I haven’t played in a Mojo Monday Challenge in a couple of weeks. There’s no time like the present to rectify that mishap. So, this card is my take on the current Mojo Monday Challenge (186). This card has more layers than I usually have the patience for, but I managed to “bear” through it.

It may look like this bear is sleeping, but he is merely thinking of that sweet someone.

Smile

I never colored an image of a person, but I’ve wanted to use this digital stamp of Star Bright Tia from someoddgirl.com for some time now. They have adorable images.  When I finally got the gumption to give this coloring people thing a try, I came across the Card Patterns Sketch 109 and thought it perfect for this image.

I didn't too bad for a novice COPIC user. I’m excited to learn more about coloring with COPICS. The only thing I don’t like about the card is the ribbon as it kept fraying. I wish I could remember where I got it, so I won't ever use it again. Anywho, I’ve rambled on long enough.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend wherever you are in the world.

Baby Onesie

My hubby requested that I make a card for one of his co-worker’s that just had a baby. I was more than happy to do it. I finally had an opportunity to use this card as inspiration. I fell in the love with everything about it. So, I pretty much recreated it with minor changes. I like using the onesies as the image is versatile so it can be used for a girl or boy. This was also an opportunity to play along with the SCS Ways to Use It Challenge (WT312) - to use spots.

Thinking of You in Gray

The SCS Way to Use it Challenge (WT311) is all about using gray as your neutral color instead of pulling out the old reliable colors like white, black or kraft. I was excited by this challenge because gray is a color I rarely use. So rare in fact that I had to raid my scrap pile to find some gray cardstock. Also, the elements of the card were inspired by the SCS Clean and Simple Challenge (CAS108) which is about the great outdoors.  While this card was simple to make, the overall effect is quite snazzy (I think). What do you think? Please do tell.

As always, thanks for visiting.

Liebster Award

Today, Rochelle over at Two Tears in My Bucket graciously gave me a Liebster Blog award.  She really had some really kind words to share about each of the bloggers she nominated.  It’s amazing the power of a kind word as it absolutely made my day.  Please take the time to visit her blog and the other bloggers she nominated.

Who's Having a Birthday?

You can never have enough birthday cards on hand. I think this is the first birthday card I’ve created when there’s no birthday in sight. I’m finally going to be ready for the next birthday coming my way. Yeah me!

The following challenges inspired this card…
Add another “Yeah me!” for getting this card posted prior to all of the challenge deadlines verses the day of or after. 2011 is shaping up to be a crafty year for me. The real challenge will be maintaining the crafting momentum I’m gaining.

Thanks for visiting and please let me know what you think.
